Former CEO Halfords Autocentres
Bill was appointed Non-Executive Chairman in January 2017, having previously worked with our Founder in a consulting capacity during the start up phase of the Group.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and has a lifetime of experience in delivering exemplary customer service in many industries. During the early part of his career, he worked in a series of leadership roles in the truck industry, working with dealers, manufacturers and service companies. His last 25+ years have been spent in a range of mainly MD and CEO roles for large multi site consumer and business organisations, such as Lex Service plc and RAC plc.
In late 2005 he led a management buyout of Nationwide Autocentres and sold this business in 2010 to Halfords Group plc. Bill went on to lead Halfords Autocentres until 2014, by which time it had grown considerably to 310 locations. Since then he has been an investor and Non Executive with a select number of start up and leading organisations.
Bill’s focus at IML is on ensuring the Group has the right strategy and in supporting the Board in realising their key mission and priorities, with a strong emphasis on open and honest customer service and offering the best products and services, underpinned by great customer value.
